I don't know what direction my post will take today. It's been a long time since I've written and my first inclination was to apologize for that. An apology is not necessary. I've spent the past few months outside myself. This is difficult to explain. There have been some life-changing things happening to some of my people. Their events have been life-changing for me, too. It is very important to me to crawl inside myself and examine and re-examine who I am, what I want, where I'm going. I can't do this by shutting others out; it can only happen by sharing and opening my life with other people. Supporting others through their tough times and life changes add to my life, to my self-awareness, to a greater awareness of the forces of life.
Three things that took me out of myself with rapid speed and then returned me to myself with more peace and clarity:
-The Kid is safely ensconced in South Korea, half a world away. Her decision to do this helped me realize that we, each of us, can take a leap and follow our heart.
-Sister Two lost her house to fire. I don't know that I could handle the devastation and loss, if it had been me. Her situation and her ability to feed her soul throughout helped me realize strength will be there, when we need it.
-My "second Mom" died a few weeks ago. Watching her laugh and cry and share her final days with her family and friends helped me realize that those who love you and whom you love, are there, despite time and distance creating interuptions.
My trip outside myself had to do with family and support and love. My trip back into myself brings me hope and back to a place of faith, of wonder, of courage.
